MCA Amends Companies (Incorporation) Rules, 2014
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (“MCA”) via a notification dated March 23, 2018 amended Rule 9 of the Companies (Incorporation) Rules, 2014 to state that the application of reservation of names shall be made through the online Form RUN (Reserve Unique Name) available on the MCA website.
MCA Notifies Appointment Procedure for National Financial Reporting Authority
The MCA via a commencement notification dated March 21, 2018, notified Sections 132(3) & 132(11) of the Companies Act, 2013. These provisions deal with the appointment of officials to the National Financial Reporting Authority – the body constituted by the Central Government for the regulation of matters related to accounting and auditing standards in India. Corresponding to said commencement notification, the MCA further notified the National Financial Reporting Authority (Manner of Appointment and Other Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairperson and Members) Rules, 2018.
Amendment of E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016
The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change has amended the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016 via a notification dated March 22, 2018. Some of the salient changes affected by this amendment are the revision of collection targets under the provisions for Extended Producer Responsibility and introduction of targets for new producers who have recently commenced operations.
